Adult Education Classes

We have started a new year of Adult Education classes. We meet each Sunday morning in the church parlor from 9:30 AM to 10:15 AM.

For the 2024-25 program year, we will study 6 lessons, each lasting 4 weeks. In addition, there will be lessons specifically focused on the Seasons of Lent (6 lessons) and Advent (4 lessons).  A dedicated group of leaders will be presenting these topics and leading the discussion.

The six lessons include:

  1. Worship God – The four dimensions of the practice discussed in this unit highlight that when we worship together: we gather, we participate, we are changed and transformed, and we bless God.
  2. Do Not Fear – The four dimensions of the practice that are discussed include: tuning into God’s presence, trusting God’s promises, taking one step at a time, and persevering.
  3. Walk Humbly – The four dimensions of this practice that are discussed include: remember that you are dust; favor the lowly; avoid judging others; and speak less, listen more.
  4. Care for Creation – The four dimensions of this practice that are discussed include: appreciate God’s creation, till, share the planet, and restore creation.
  5. Celebrate Communion – The four dimensions of the practice that are discussed include: give thanks, share meals, be fed, and feed others.
  6. Cross Borders – In this unit, crossing borders is about actions we take to reach out to others who are different from us in order to love them and build bridges of understanding and justice.
